Welcome to the Altdorf Gunnery!

The Altdorf Gunnery is the premier training grounds for Engineers and Witch Hunters. We will train you in tactics and strategy, guns and melee, and even drinking and interrogation.

~Master Gunner Grym

I have been waiting for Warhammer Online since it was announced and it is finally right around the corner. I was never able to get into closed beta but it feels right going into the game with only a vague idea of what is in store. I have been playing MMO’s since 2002 and I am hooked on them now. I used to play Dungeons and Dragons Pen & Paper, various RPG computer games like Baldur’s Gate and Elder Scrolls III but now it is mainly MMO’s for the human interaction. I still play the game that shall not be named but I have come to a point where all I want to do is play on and off with my main to get some new pet, tabard or accomplish some other small goal.

My first MMO was Earth and Beyond. I loved that game. I played the class that is basically a gatherer with some cool support skills. Then something happened between the producers and the programmers and the game went poof. Very quickly… My next game was Dark Age of Camelot. I spent a lot of time playing it. I played a Minstrel for a while, then an Animist, and finally a Healer. When the game that shall not be named came out, I moved there with my friends. I have to be honest. I have had some great times there. However, it is time to move on.

When Warhammer Online started coming out, up until a few weeks ago, I was a die hard Greenskin Fan. In fact, I was dead set on playing the two goblin classes, Shaman and Squig Herder. I still like the way they look but something on the side of Order kept catching my eye. Guns and Explosives. I love the fact that the Witch Hunter and Engineer are two classes that have entered the Renaissance with a vengeance. I am very fond of Alexandre Dumas and other works similar to his. I could not resist the pull and so here I am.

I hope to make the Altdorf Gunnery the premier source for all things related to the Engineer and the Witch Hunter. I may even delve into real world history of weapons they use. I’ll mix in the adventures of my own characters along with news and instruction. I may be a little slow in posting at first as I have yet to play the game but you should start seeing regular posts soon after launch.
